Dog’s Bout With Vacuum Ends in Stalemate
A New York pup named Franklin had gone three rounds with a vacuum cleaner Sunday evening when the ref finally called it a draw.
“Every time the vacuum came around, Frank would just hide under the bed,” says spectator Cal Demay. “It’s a pretty cheap way to fight, but he’s definitely safe under there. The ref was right to call it — it wasn’t going anywhere.”
The vacuum’s manager has already called for a rematch.

Dog Charged With Identity Theft
After a three week search for the culprit, the FBI claims it has a dog named Oscar in custody on charges of impersonating and defrauding a giraffe.
“He’s been writing bad checks all over town,” says special agent Terry Crawford, who works on fraud and identity theft cases. “He’s run up a $30,000 credit card bill and ruined the reputation of that poor giraffe. The costume is pretty ridiculous, I’m not sure why we didn’t spot him sooner.”

Reports of Living Room Bear ‘Greatly Exaggerated’
When authorities rushed to the scene of a bear sighting, the tipster — a dog named Charlie — was still on site.
“He was freaking out,” says animal control officer Max Reddy. “But his claims about a bear were greatly exaggerated. One of my guys had to explain that it was just a kid in a bear costume. He wasn’t buying it at first, but when she started singing Disney songs, he eventually figured it out.”

PugCast Podcast Is a Hit With Pugs
Roscoe the pug, a podcast disc jockey who shares his views on pugs and pug-related issue via his PugCast podcast every Wednesday evening, has found a sizeable niche audience. The podcast is available on iTunes and touts a mission to deliver, “the most important pug news and analysis, for pugs, by pugs.”
“We’re pushing at least 25, maybe 30 regular listeners now,” said PugCast community manager Tanya Orms. ”Roscoe barks the truth. That’s what the pug community wants to hear.”
Though the PugCast is still relatively tiny, it is already attracting interest from advertisers, according to sources. The show is reportedly planning to use advertising revenue to expand its reach by purchasing ads on iPhone apps related to dogs and politics.
